  2. I'd say the equivalent to 1938 was 2014, as the Sudetenland was majority ethnic-German just as Crimea is majority ethnic-Russian.

  3. ​ @jimgraham6722  The main thing that's stopping Republicans supporting Ukraine currently is fear of a Trump-supported primary challenger, so perhaps we'll see more movement once the primary season is over? Incidentally, it appears that Trump's desperate need for money (to pay both campaign expenses and legal bills) may have allowed the Chinese to buy him too (which is why MAGA politicians are now defending Chinese-owned TikTok). Might that scupper Trump's chances given how most American conservatives are far more hostile to China than they are to Russia?
