Perhaps it stands for Китай (China), as in suggesting that China will annex the Russian Far East? I hope that if this does happen that Japan at least secures its backdoor by reclaiming Chishima and Karafuto (aka Sakhalin Oblast): of course Sakhalin on that cake is too skinny to be able to see if it's marked with a Я (for Японія)...

How likely is it that Russia will carry on bombing Ukrainian civilians even after their armies are evicted from Ukrainian soil (including Crimea)?

@katepro5451 Do you think that's one reason why some European countries are reticent about supporting Ukraine, because of how horrendously destructive a civil war in a nuclear power could be?

@katepro5451 Would the nuclear weapons mean that even if russia collapses in civil war it won't be possible for neighbours to take over its territories (eg Finland taking Karelia, Poland and/or Lithuanian taking Kaliningrad, China taking Primorsky or Japan taking Sakhalin)?

@S0ulinth3machin3 Ukraine too spent most of its post-independence history as a highly corrupt country dominated by oligarchs, but the most powerful Ukrainian oligarchs tended to be from the Donbas because that was where the Soviet-era heavy industry was. However, since the Maidan Revolution oligarchy has declined in Ukraine: first in that several Donbas oligarchs turned traitor afterwards, and then in 2019 when Volodymyr Zelensky defeated oligarch Petro Poroshenko in the presidential election. Perhaps Putin invaded because he sensed that Ukraine was finally starting to get its act together and do something about its corruption problem?

@mauricehodgson3143 Reminds me of how single hits (which penetrated ammunition stores) totally destroyed HMS Hood and USS Arizona in 1941.

@scipioafricanus5871 Maybe that's why the piece representing the Russian Far East is labelled with a К (for Китай -- China)?

Wasn't Israel's 1967 sneak attack on the Egyptian Air Force so successful because the Egyptian air defense radars were actually turned off, out of fear that Muslim Brotherhood sympathisers in the Egyptian military would try to shoot down the presidential plane?
