Artyomovsk (or Artemivsk in Ukrainian) was the town's Soviet-era name, derived from the name of a Bolshevik revolutionary who came from there. It was reverted to Bakhmut in 2016 as part of Ukraine's decommunization program.

@jimmallamace3027 IIRC the Canadian government specifically encouraged Ukrainians to settle in the prairie provinces, perhaps figuring that being from a similar climate they'd know how to properly cultivate the land.

@allinoneal4540 It's dark blue actually: I guess this is the older version of the French flag? The French flag today more often uses a brighter shade of blue that matches that of the EU flag.

Has Jake ever touched on the fact that most of continental Europe is now having unusually mild winter conditions? This should hopefully mean that Russia's gas blackmail is DOA...

@marresjepie1887 And hasn't China been building its influence in the ex-Soviet "stans" of Central Asia while Russia has been pre-occupied with its meddling in the Caucasus, Syria and Ukraine?
