  6. Isn't the main argument against confiscating Russian assets the concern that it may make governments (and wealthy individuals) in the Global South less willing to use Western banks, out of fear that their assets may be confiscated if they do something the West disapproves of?

  7.  @MamaDisco1313  The global South governments and individuals probably don't trust the West to confiscate assets only from states which "invade another country to commit genocide". Plus many likely believe that that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza with the full support of the (hypocritical) West.

  8.  @MamaDisco1313  My point is that if the West starts confiscating Russian assets then some other non-Western governments may freak out and fear they're next, even if those governments haven't committed crimes comparable to Russia's.
