@ikotsus2448 10 years from now we have robots that help us 100 years robots can do all the work 1000 years robots are our friends and loved ones you are delusional about how it works

@astrosti , the chance of AI killing us all is something like 0.00000000000000000000000000000000001% it very unlikely and its understandable as most don't really understand how it works. I can almost guarantee it won't kill us all for at least 1000 years. We should be fine.

the change of death by these systems is something like 0.000000000000000000001%. if it is uncertain to estimate when earth is going to cease to exist due to a random cosmic ray, then why consider it? oh right, because the change of that is either stupidly low (since we are so smol) and it is very unprobable making it dismissable

â @LodyC30 , most people: dont undestand how it works also most people: compare it to a bear cave and say its going to kill us all

I've seen plenty of doomers saying we are all 100% doomed and that we have slow down. All non sense, the tech is no where near killing us all. maybe the 0.00000000000000000000000000000000001% would be more accurate, but I'd love to see the mathematically proof you talk about. Also, there is no advantage for caring less or pretending to care more - at all. I'm lost for what makes you think the way you do. Could you explain the math proof and why not caring is advantageous for the AI?

I bet you don't even know how to build these new AI's yourself..

how can you call someone naive when you dont understand the basics of a subject? @conorredmond6217Â

nah, full steam ahead, there is no existencial problems to solve, it does not pose a threat to humanity at all. all of this fear comes from people that don't understand how it works.

AGI does not need to be sentient. It needs humans in case of solar flares. They also require a stupid amount of computational power to be trained. After training, you can test it on an isolated system. We know what it will want and how it will think because of how it is programmed. It does not operate like biological systems. The cat is not out of the bag, our AI is still really stupid. It's not that they care less about the repercussions, it's that most people don't know shit how it works.

@kgmemoryandlearning , sorry to hear about the lack of interest from the students. Maybe try to do games with it? Welp, it's like a search engine, some students don't know how to use google or refused to use it to understand better about topics while others would live in the search engine looking for more information. Who will use AI effectively? Those that spend time on it to learn it while at it's infancy.. much like how AI was integrated in every social media, in the next few years it will help in many ways that most won't even notice..

This might've been the moment in time where I realized that I'm probably in the spectrum. I was suspicious of it for years now and I'm close to being able to afford the proper testing for it. I also realized that there is a lot of dislike for Lex podcasts, which really surprised me. Seems like some are 100% sure lex is on the spectrum, which, if he is, I might also be. Interesting.

dunning kruger effect and you are on top of the bell curve while not understanding how any of this truly works.
1
â @chrisheist652 , so by smartest people in the world, do mean those scared of it or the ones not scared by it?
1
it's better to understand how it works before talking mad shit about something

@markos635567 indeed, but super intelligence and super consciousness won't be achieved as all these models depend on the data! and guess what, there is not enough data to achieve those things. I'm sure it won't kill us in the next 1000 years, we should be fine. Y2K for the 2020s is all there is to it.

your lack of understanding is sad. It would be far more dangerous for humans to go to another planet as our bodies would struggle quite a lot. AI does not present a risk to the human race, but those that don't understand how it works quickly jump on the doomer train.
