except he has a bunch of followers that believe the nonsense he spews and spread it like an infection in human consciousness

get on a bus, wait for it to get to 50 mph, then jump, did you suddenly fling to the back of the bus? no because you are traveling forward at the same speed as the bus, this is the answer to your first point as for chicago, you can see the tops of buildings, not the whole city
6
@noone-te1zm you obviously don't understand the bus experiment, we are moving the same speed as the earth, hence we don't get flung off like flat earth morons argue
3
@user-hr9oz8xv6n yes, magic sky man makes so much more sense
2
"To debunk the Flat Earth theory, you can just use Sydney to Santiago, Chile, Quantas flight 27, 7000 miles. 12 hour flight. This flight would be impossible on the Flat Earth model, requiring the plane to travel at twice the speed of sound." - metabunk.org
2
while there have been false flag operations in the past, an alien invasion would be almost impossible to fake in an era where we have the internet and everyone is filming everything all the time
2
@mrebola9078 lol right, you know every single flat earther on the planet, I'm willing to bet 99% of them are not trolls but really believe this shit, youtubers making monetized videos about flat earth could definitely be trolls, but the majority of peons watching those channels definitely believe the nonsense
2
@I Don't Want Any Trouble no thousands of years ago brilliant mathematical minds figured out the curvature, rotation, circumference of earth, etc. (to within very accurate measurements) then the dark ages came along and religious peons got none of that education and started believing the earth was flat, then common people got better and better educations to the point where most ppl-- outside of religious fanaticism-- understood basics like rotation and curvature, then the internet came along and brought an intellectual dark age where people could easily spread misinformation
2
@I Don't Want Any Trouble you aren't worth the trouble
2
@chicassoproductions8527 Independence Day is the most popular movie in this area of thought, in that movie nations work together, they do not form a one world government, to fend off the attack in Ender's Game aliens come and the most powerful countries form a hegemony, but in later books it falls apart as they war over old rivalries once the alien threat is dealt with
2
no they aren't "just questioning" they are positing everything is a lie, and then spreading more lies on top of that, it's healthy to be skeptical, but these people are just delusional
1
@I Don't Want Any Trouble that's how it already works you moron
1
we're gonna need a bigger hard drive
1
ikr, eddie would have you believe they teach astronomy in catholic churches and don't preach the nonsense about firmament that is in the bible
1
@midihc we aren't "seeing lightyears away" we are seeing the light that has travelled light years to come to us
1
@midihc but you did use the phrase "you think humans can see light years away" which proves pretty conclusively you don't understand jack shit and shouldn't be questioning anything
1
@midihc not triggered just calling you out for trying to sound smart when you clearly don't understand
1
@Quantum_Cola yeah because characters in gta are alive, the simulation theory is nonsense
1
it's basically a republican version of john lennon's " Imagine"
1
actually it's "climate change" but go ask what the people working in glacier national park think about it, glaciers are supposed to recede and reform, they are now steadily receding and not coming back, whether or not you think it is man made doesn't mean we shouldn't be doing something about it
1
@lucyrand2751 as i said in my previous post, whether or not you think it is caused or exacerbated by humans does not mean it is not happening, and that we shouldn't do anything about it, maybe read next time
1
@user-hr9oz8xv6n you use flimsy strawman i counter with flimsy strawman, "stuck to a spinning globe hurtling through space" is the same language as "magic sky man"
1
@I Don't Want Any Trouble again, you aren't worth the trouble
1
being open minded is one thing believing space is a conspiracy started 2000 years ago by greek mathematicians and perpetuated by nations at war with each other is just crazy town
1
the problem is he is helping brainwash people into thinking this nonsense, he is muddying the waters between healthy skepticism and outright lunacy
1
simulation theory is a fun thought experiment, but ultimately useless as an explanation of anything
1
@Rob-ue6ij ok, yeah, put your mind to it and accomplish a goal, lots of people try, few succeed, congrats on being one of the lucky ones, mind over matter is far more simple than "we're in the matrix" and accomplishes the same goal
1
simpsons did it
1
"To debunk the Flat Earth theory, you can just use Sydney to Santiago, Chile, Quantas flight 27, 7000 miles. 12 hour flight. This flight would be impossible on the Flat Earth model, requiring the plane to travel at twice the speed of sound." -metabunk.org
1
"whos more smarter" well it certainly isn't you
1
that's why they had to choose their path carefully, waiting for the right time, the van allen belt does not fully surround the earth you idgit, a simple web search will show that
1
the people that figure this shit out are twenty times smarter than you, so jelly
1
no, you don't need to question something that mathematicians discovered 2000 years ago and has been tested over and over again by scientists to the point not one of them questions it anymore, the earth spins, it has measurable curvature, it revolves around the sun, these are indisputable facts, only con artists and idiots continue to question those things
1
@I Don't Want Any Trouble no he's saying a lot of the observable evidence can be detected by equipment that can "see" more than the human eye, are you denying the existence of UV rays, X-rays, etc.?
1
even if a one world government were formed to defend the earth from alien invasion, if it were successful, it would fall apart as soon as the threat was gone, so they would have to stage alien invasions on a regular basis
1
lol people are in orbit right now in the ISS, oh wait, everything is fake to you morons
1
it would soon erode after any threat was gone, old rivalries would arise and it would split into factions
1
you can make deductions like get on a bus and when it is traveling 50 mph stand in the aisle and jump, notice you didn't go flying to the back of the bus? this is how you can easily see the "why aren't we flung off if the earth is spinning?" question is just garbage you can look up a lot of simple experiments like this that completely align with what a handful of greek mathematicians figured out 2000 years ago using shadows and math, that we are on a curved surface and we are rotating both around our own axis as well as our sun's
1
@Guard385 what if people had tails? your comment is nonsense, people don't just go around doing whatever they want all the time because we live in societies in which it is much more advantageous to work together instead of against each other
1
@I Don't Want Any Trouble bumfuckville community college doesn't count
1
@mrebola9078 if telescopes can see from here to the moon they could easily see from San Francisco to china, but you waterbrains have an answer for everything "'they' are just lying about everything"
1
they? Eratosthenes and Ptolemy are trying to control everyone?
1
i really can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not
1
far too left? what does this have to do with the political spectrum
1
lol you haven't seen the revolving sun/moon model? some of them honestly believe the sun is really small and only a few miles above us
1
but that's fake too cause everything is fake!
1
yep, those greek mathematicians started a conspiracy over 2000 years ago that every warring nation perpetuates to this day
1
right because china and north korea and russia and every middle eastern country and all of africa can't WAIT to join with the US...
1
questioning things that were discovered 2000 years ago that MANY MANY scientists tried and failed to disprove and are now held as indisputable facts in the scientific community (where EVERYTHING any scientists does is eagerly attempted to be disproven by many more scientists) is a complete waste of time and energy if you want to question quantum physics go right ahead, cause nobody understands that shit, but earth being roundish and spinning around its own axis as well as the sun's is as close to undeniable as anything can be
1
lol the van halen belt the van allen belt doesn't completely cover the earth and has waxibg/waning periods which is why they had to wait for very specific times to send astronauts out
1
"they" are using constant war to unite us? yeah...
1
lol so a handful of greek mathematicians started a conspiracy 2000 years ago that every government is now going along with? i mean, really? so how does your cell phone work if its all a lie? magic sky man? ok
1
because he saw what war does to people first hand and didn't like it
1
i think anyone that understands humans in the slightest knows there could never be a one world government, that's why the song is called "Imagine" not "This is possible"
1
@chicassoproductions8527 yeah the UN is not anywhere near a single body, it is delegates from many countries all bickering over nonsense
1
except it was an expression of his feeling towards global enmity, it was basically his version of john lennon's "imagine" just saying, "think if we would just stop fighting each other what we could accomplish!"
