My healthcare is paid for by taxes, and I'm getting paid to get a bachelors degree by the state so I can afford my own appartment and live rather comfortably as a student. But sure keep telling everyone that actually it sucks ass to live a comfortable life in a well functioning democracy with strong human rights protection. I'm sure that one day people will believe that actually its preferable to live in a shithole with potholes everywhere where half the population is dying from drug addiction and the other half is dying in a war you're losing to a tiny country.

  6. When the Soviet Union initially abolished the Tsarist legal code they specifically did not reimplement any sort of laws about sexuality and marriage. Stalin later reintroduced those laws when he took power and also repealed most of the rights women had gained during the revolution. Hence why Russia is so conservative today, despite what some people think the Soviet Union was incredibly conservative and reactionary.
