Russia has always had a mandatory draft but it was just for training and supposedly by law draftees could only be mobilized for defense. Of course Russia got around that law by just passing a law saying that land they don't even control in Ukraine is Russian so now technically an invasion of another country is defense.

Which obviously explains why there are two regiments made up entirely of Russians fighting for Ukraine.

@cyrneco Well said South Vietnamese regime was carrying out a pretty genocidal policy against the country's Bhuddist majority and the weapons the US used like agent Orange had pretty horrific effects. Like it only barely doesn't qualify as a genocide according to the UN definition but it certainly had a very similar effect.

Its to represent the fate of every Russian soldier to be cooked like bacon when the next HIMARS strike hits because their commander never showed up to give his speech (this actually happened).

@natebox4550 Only counting American soldiers is just a way to lie with statistics when the majority of the soldiers on the ground were South Vietnamese. Like sure if you only count a minority of the armed forces then it looks like one side lost relatively few but we could do the same for North Vietnam and only count soldiers from the regular army. Casualties are also just a dumb way to examine wars, you have to look at outcomes and the outcome was a total defeat of the US and the annexation of the south by the north. The US did not have the resources to continue the war and was never in a position to win it, Afghanistan is slightly different because the Coalition did have a chance to stabilize the country and expel Taliban for good but corruption and poor planning prevented that and eventually the Coalition didn't have the resources to continue.

Ironic that the guys who claim to fight Naizs parrot literal Nazi propaganda.

US drone strikes actually exploit a legal loop hole where it's not considered an act of war by US law because they are unmanned.

I'd probably rather fight for the side where I get modern NATO equipment instead of expired rations and tanks from 1947. Y'know the side that currently has about a 4th of the losses of their opponent.

@uhsir9852 your mom

@alexturnbackthearmy1907 That was more just a part of the Russian Civil War and both sides fought each other to a stalemate without achieving their objectives.

You're free to move to Russia and get drafted, in fact everyone would be happy if you left.

Putin isn't that dumb and he isn't mad. He knows that if nuclear weapons were used NATO would intervene and given how the Russian army is being demolished by Ukrainians with just a bit of NATO equipment and training it's clear how things would turn out if NATO actually got involved. The fact that he keeps making threats without making good on them makes it clear that he's never going to actually try anything.

An yes a Jewish president, very comparable to Nazis. As opposed to the country with literal concentration camps.

It's a legal document so it needs to be signed.

I always find it funny how people associate being macho with just doing obviously stupid shit. You're really just making a great argument for why gender roles are stupid.

@shanescatsandcannabisfarm2965 So the reason you can't go die to a HIMARS is because you're already dying in a US prison?

Every side in this conflict is capitalist? Unless you think Social Democracies like the Nordic countries aren't for some reason?

harold2004 Nazi admits to being a Nazi. Time to get out the bricks.

You can't actually ban VPNs, and they aren't all that banned in China either. My local university has a department in China that uses a VPN back to Denmark and that's all being done completely legally and above board.

@danielsimon4678 Russia will collapse if bot accounts don't spam random comments sections.

@sicariijustiniani9566 Being afraid of dying in a pointless war is completely reasonable and should be how anyone with a functioning brain feels.

@nemanjajovanovic451 Bush was the WMD guy.

Denmark has something very similar called MitID. It's not a single service for everything but rather a single login and authentication system that both government and private services like banks use. It works pretty well and I think one of the benefits is that it's very secure because it's run by a single entity which is solely tasked with its security. One part of it is E-boks which is basically a highly secure email that is used by said services to send you mail, in practice that means bank transscripts and hospital appointments with like the occasional study invitation.
