The standard of care is to only start HRT at 16, I don't think there's any western country in which a 16 year old doesn't yet have medical majority, hence they are not underage. Before then what can be administered are blockers, which simply put puberty on hold and have no permanent effect, usually this can be administered at age 12, which is the age of medical majority in most western countries, ie. the age at which someone has full control over their own medical decisions. HRT also simply isn't chemical castration, there's a chance that after about 2 years on it you might become infertile but that's a chance and seemingly a fairly low one, and that's not even what castration is, it also refers to removing your sex drive. Also lets not forget the fact that the damage done by puberty itself to a trans child is far greater than what HRT could do. Denying them treatment because you demand that they must breed (also creepy how much you care about the sex lives of those you consider underage) is about as nonsensical as delaying chemotherapy on the basis that it can make you infertile. I should also mention that HRT literally has the lowest rate of regret of any medical treatment, including lifesaving cancer treatments, if not for transphobia it would be considered a wonder medication because no single medicine in the history of humanity has been this effective.

  4. That's also the thing that these people willingly misunderstand when it comes to the terms "fragile masculinity" and "toxic masculinity". It isn't meant to say that masculinity is inherently toxic, if that was the case then there'd be no need to put "toxic" in front of masculinity. The point is to refer to how a toxic system of masculinity can uphold itself by instilling insecurities in men and undermining their sense of self worth by implying they're not masculine enough and that they must constantly lash out to prove their masculinity. The people trapped in this cult like environment don't realize that the only ones questioning their masculinity or worth are these grifters who rely on their insecurities to sell their grift.

  10. In general it seems like a lot of men's ideas about what women find attractive are completely divorced from reality and it's just stuff that men themselves find attractive. I'm saying this as a lesbian who has just casually listened to other women talk about what they like. Like it's stuff like sense of fashion, pretty hair, being funny and gentle, really just go watch any romance movie and you'll see what I mean. The only time I've seen muscle talked about was strangely specifically forearms, otherwise most women don't particularly care but just see it as like a nice surprise.   64. Homophobia and transphobia is more of a western thing, like in most of the formerly colonized nations those were barely a thing before western colonial powers imposed it on them. A good example would be the Middle East, it might shock some people to learn that the first country in the world to officially legalize homosexuality was The Ottoman Empire, in 1847 and historians agree that this was largely ceremonial and an attempt to resist western influence. However after France and the UK carved up the Middle East between them they imposed their own homophobia on the region and that's why it's so widespread today. Japan and Thailand are one of the few examples of what happens when these countries largely escaped colonialism and western influence. Like there's a reason why there are so many queer characters in anime and that they've been there for so long, meanwhile in the west you can literally count on your fingers the number of animated shows with queer characters.

Like Martin Luther was pretty anti-semitic and sexist but your average protestant wouldn't agree with him and just see him as an important step along the way. Frankly this can be said about a lot of historical political figures as well, but usually we tend to value them for what they got right while acknowledging their mistakes.

Everyone overreacted because the divorce rate spiked once faultless divorce became a thing but that was just people getting out of bad marriages, afterwards it has fallen and in most of the west is around 20-30%. Shockingly now that marriage isn't a way to bind two people together against their will people actually take it seriously and only get married if they're sure they love each other.

Japan has historically been far more accepting of queer people than the west and it's really only recently that the west managed to overtake it. Even the Bible mentions at least 6 different genders. The west is the odd one out historically with it's belief in a gender binary and homophobia, it just so happened that Europe became imperialist and dominated much of the world and thus imposed its beliefs on the rest of the world. However even that seems to have been a fairly brief exception to the broad historical trend, the era of European domination only lasted for about 500 years, and the belief in binary gender and homophobia is already falling apart. It seems very obvious that the natural state of human society is to see gender as a spectrum and we're currently at the tail end of a 500 year weird interlude.
