  5. Being entrepreneurial is the only way to get even a bit ahead. I used to pay one quarter of my earnings for an apartment in NY when I was a young. Impossible for young people now. They might get a room for half their earnings or more. How to pay off college debt then or save for a house someday? I think intentional communities are the future.

  7. We do a handmade Christmas- for years now. Homemade wine and liqueurs. Baked goods. A Christmas pudding. Knitted scarves and hats. More books in recent years- it’s almost a hobby or sport, searching thrift shops for books.
