@IshaIsSomehowTaken because of lockdowns, parents discovered how bad the education is here. Lots of people are now homeschooling or joining with others to create homeschool pods. Lots more are sending their children to private schools. I used to volunteer in the public schools in Seattle. More than 15 years ago. I was shocked at how bad the curriculum was and the lack of teaching assistants to help with all the kids who were so behind in the work. The children weren’t taught phonics so they didn’t know how to sound out words. !!!! Something so basic. It crippled them for advancing. They dreaded the sight of books.

@lisette2060 no idea why you addressed me in this way. Sounds like you need basic instruction in courtesy. Maybe you are in the teachers’ Union and concerned you will be held to account. You are dismissed.

You could drive a large truck through all the holes in my own education. I’m still trying to make up for it on my own. I did know about Amundsen and Scott because my family liked reading books about explorers and watched every documentary that came along.
