  5. Sometimes you can have seasonal help through the WWOOF organization. I worked on a small farm in Washington state for a few weeks. And an apple orchard. You can provide a spot for a tent or trailer, the helper works 4 hours a day and learns something. Lots of ways to work out a fair deal. The workers have a sort of rating on the website so you know something about them. If I get to travel again, that’s what I hope to do, not too interested in cities and restaurants and shopping. I’d rather work on a horse farm or mind the farm shop or help with home schooling.

  7. Sounds perfect. I used to rent 40 acres in the mountains— none of my city friends ever came for a visit. They are frightened of elk or snakes or something. I’m still working on finding my remote land — I already have a library for winter😂

  16. You have to diversify- a few camp sites, a farm shop, some of the family have outside jobs, craft classes, etc. And the UK has so many regulations and codes.
