  3. The needles have taken out a lot of my friends suddenly and unexpectedly. One retired a year ago, found dead in his new apartment. Lots of others are fighting turbo cancers. They have a symptom, and boom- itā€™s stage 4 already. All their savings get used up on treatment. One friend kept putting off her art career until retirement because she wanted to buy a house. Dead at 59 , four weeks after diagnosis. So yeah- live a littleā€” have some balance.

  5. Lots of factors. Did they lose a lot in a stressful divorce? Did they take time to stay physically active during their working years? Did they start drinking more or eating less healthy food after retirement? You have to prepare mentally and emotionally for retirement- develop interests , invest in friendships, maybe volunteer in the community, play on a team. A career absorbs so much for a man, it provides an identity, he feels he has a clear purpose. I have to say of some wivesā€” they treat their husbands like they take them for granted, donā€™t help them navigate the drastic change. I know of one who told her husband she wasnā€™t going to make meals for him anymore since he wasnā€™t working- this after he came in from doing yard work.

  7. Effect. Iā€™m an officer in the spelling, punctuation and grammar police. In my state you can buy and flip 3 cars a year. Any more than that and you need a business license. Some friends buy at auction and I sometimes do the detailing. Unfortunately Iā€™m not a mechanic.
