  1. Used to be great. Most New Yorkers are good-hearted. I saw an elderly woman fall on the sidewalk and a dozen people immediately stopped to help, kept her calm, called her family. I was there but all that there was for me to do was hold her shopping bag until the ambulance came. I’ve seen guys chase down purse snatchers, defend women and children. People volunteer at food banks and other places. A million little everyday stories.
