  1. I can’t believe people will pay the prices to live there in tiny spaces. You spend a fortune to go out drinking with friends. Ten years pass,you have nothing to show for it and no end to it in sight. I wish I had left NYC sooner. I had enough saved to buy 40 acres with a cabin and creek when I left. No mortgage. I had no idea of the possibilities out in the world, no mentors, no examples. So much more is open to young people who can work remotely. I have no idea if NY is coming back. How can you really tell? Are young people able to make a living and raise a family or pursue their art or save for a home? Do they have to work 2 jobs to pay the bills?
