@feathermerchant Slavery in the US was almost entirely limited to regions contained people (considered to be of a lesser culture) in Britain and Ireland where they originally came from. The linguistics and traditions of those people were the same in both countries and were seen as undesirable by much of the more Germanic cultured peoples that were living in the North. The industrialization of the north and lack thereof in the south is NOT an accident. Even today, mainstream black culture continues the cultural backwardness that much of the southern whites brought with them from undesirable areas of Britain. A large degree of violence, substance abuse, and hustle culture. This is why lottery, gambling, and substance abuse (even today) still take place primarily in Appalachia, the deep South, and inner city black ghettos.
