@thatxdamnxgirl7416 How? Learning how to code on many of these certification programs includes a list of AI programming software. He's not wrong; it is not for everyone and it gets harder. The selection pool of coders that can create innovative software and participate (going forward) with AI technology is going to shrink. I'm not sure about globally, but a 35% layoff in the US would be generous. I'd wager it would be at least 50%; if not higher. Coding isn't even 'remotely' enough anymore. The simps that got sold into thinking it would get them six figures are going to be ripping their hair out. It won't even be worth minimum wage.

@Ladywren101 Boy was I wrong about union intervention. Sure, there are 'some' lower end companies where trickle-down works and mom/pop treat their employees well, but those days are largely gone. These days, if a company 'can' screw you; they 'will'.

Enjoy it while it lasts; eventually the company will slash your position. You're probably being kept on as a 'filler' position for their corporate hierarchy. It may take a year or five, but eventually these companies outsource the work to subcontractors or another position that will accept less pay.

@katehipkins2838 Australia doesn't have a massive diseased population and population draining the supply/demand curve of the system. US healthcare is the best in the world, but it has an extremely HIGH demand which means extremely high prices.

I now nobody wants to here this, but the American dream has become significantly harder since 2021-2022. I was working for Anheuser ($70k annual) before I bought my first home and got married. That was in 2020! There is no way (regardless of interest rates) that I could afford the same standard of living if I was making the same money and tried that in 2024.

@gavinlew8273 That's probably 1% or less of people in that field. Innovative software creators are extremely rare. Ignorant people think that learning how to code will get them some $200k job, when in reality they are describing (innov. software techs) that have been doing this was over a decade.
