@reuven2010 Yes, because the USD is the reserve currency and every bank in the world is downwind of the Federal Reserve. Printing $8 Trillion dollars has consequences, especially when most of it doesn't go towards production/exportation.

@None-y2f No, immigration had nothing to do with it. The FED set interest rates near 0 in 2020. I was offered a 1.75% interest rate to buy a home in April 2024. Everybody and their brother jumped in to buy up houses and condos to rent out because AirBNB was becoming popular. The buyer surplus sent prices thru the roof. That's how this happened. It's because a million Americans own multi-properties.

It's happening everywhere because every currency is traded in USD The Reserve Currency. The FED printed $7 Trillion dollars between 2020-2022. People ran out to get low interest mortgages to rent them out on AirBNB.

No, it's called currency devaluation. Blame the Federal Reserve for printing $7 Trillion dollars during the covid lockdowns. If you didn't want currency devaluation, then you should have stood up to tyrants imposing lockdowns. That's why this is happening all over the world. All other currencies are traded in USD; so it's all downwind of US FED policy.
