Do you think Walmart would be dumping food left and right if they didn't get a tax deduction for it? Large fishing companies over-fish because they are speculating on sales; then are rewarded for both sales and losses.

  17. 401k accounts are typically filled with low volatility mutual funds; market goes down 30% and your account goes down 12%. I'm 31 and we have a 401k that's roughly $80,000. Also just paid off $117,000 in debt; so we're back to square one basically. But, it was worth it.

  18. It won't change anything; inflation will just get worse next cycle. This is all happening due to the retirement crisis; not exactly greed. SS, Medicare, and Pensions are essentially asset bubbles that have to be propped up by currency devaluation due to demographic problems. People should honestly be thankful to be in the US; Canada is significantly worse off.

  23. To be brutally honest, in your situation (online or at Wendys) and I don't mean anything by that. Those are statistically the best places you're going to get what you're looking for regardless of what kind of man you are. Trying to ask out people in person (these days) is more or less just for social rep or experience. They will probably all say no or lure your in for a free dinner. I'm 30, married, and have a son. Apparently I'm really good looking and have been in shape my entire life. You're wasting your time with college girls or trying to date in person. Women ignored me my entire life until I got married and had a child, then they got jealous; that's how it works. Women mate by charisma and resource and then character afterwards; looks and fitness then become bonuses. If you be yourself and show ambition for the future; you'll get really far with most women on that. The tricky part is that women in the modern age are lapsing 18-25 when it comes to serious dating. Culture and technology give them unrealistic standards and bad habits, then they reach 30 and start getting depression and having regrets. So naturally, you'll have a high turnover rate with college chicks. They may humor you at first, but they will assume that you are childish because you don't have a degree and that they will make more than you. Which is ironic, because they typically end up working at Starbucks for 10 years. Take your confidence and ambitions, then go looking for a female with family values. If you date non-maternal women; life will be rough going forward. Find a girl that's about average intelligence, isn't hopped up on pharmaceuticals, calm and steady, and family oriented. The rest should take care of itself

  25. Outsourcing is a component, but the largest reason is that the FED attempts to maintain asset values by propping up markets and social safety nets. This is why high inflation is the inevitable future for the US. If a recession like 2008 were to happen; it would bankrupt Social Security, Medicare, and Pensions. So as a result, they will print more money and devalue the USD so that asset values will be maintained. IF they don't; we go into a depression. If they do, then we eventually go into hyperinflation.

  26. I'm actually going to slightly disagree with you on that. For instance, driving a truck is obviously blue collar, but you can't pay Americans enough to take the job. I remember getting my CDL back in 2019; we had 15 students and 3 of us were born and raised in America. The rest were from West African and one other from Ethiopia. This however, does happen in fields like being a machinist or other skilled tradesman to a large degree these days. Even in white collar; there is a shortage. My question to you is that, if there really is no shortage of skilled labor; where are the skilled Americans at? People act like they're showing up to interviews, seminars, or job fairs and being rejected. This is not my experience! My actual experience is that so-called American workers don't show up at all. I think what's actually happening is that most Americans are getting degrees in useless fields that present them with virtually no skills. Why else do you think virtually all of Gen Z sits at home applying to (work-from home positions). No life experience, no ambition, and no actual skills in my experience. I think Americans have hobbled themselves by investing in complacency.

If they want to remain a major political party; they need to fire every executive running the DNC. If nothing changes, they might be lucky to get 50 million votes in 2028.

  28. Best case scenario, these tariffs have to be used as a bullying tactic in order to force other countries to reduce or drop their own. As a long term strategy; tariff wars are devastating to global trade. Claiming that the US will make a lot of money implementing these tariffs is either insane incompetence or sleight of hand in wording. Tariffs in useful cases are good as a short term strategy when nations have a similar standard of living. The idea that putting a 10% or even 40% tariff in places in southeast Asia will somehow make companies come back to the US is unbelievable. Companies will go to a dozen other countries before they even humor the idea of returning to the US. Why? The US has massive asset and wage bubbles that make it nearly impossible for these companies to turn a profit and sell their goods globally or domestically. Deflation (reducing the cost of living) is the ultimate goal here. But of course, no Boomers wants to see their retirement get cut by 90% do they? So voters will keep kicking the can and do nothing to solve the actual problem. Get rid of Federal student loans, phase out social security, and stop giving subsidies to big companies.

  29. I'm in the same boat, I voted for Trump largely to cure tensions with Russia. On top of that, I felt Kamala wasn't qualified nor even wanted the job. As for tariffs, I'm all in on them for China. However, I hope that the rest (mainly Mexico and Canada) are more of a short term bullying tactic. Long term tariff wars never go well for anyone typically. As far as the economy or market; this was inevitable. I knew they would blame him for it even back in January when he unveiled his final plans. FED cut the rates bac in September; historically this always creates a debt refinancing phase. The bear market began in mid February and typically happens 6 months after major rate changes.

You can do it all over again and it would still end up the same way; Price's Law and natural pareto distributions. Question is, why eat the rich? The state acquiring their wealth only devalues it's equity. This has been tried numerous times already and it ends the same way. I can guarantee that you'll be more prosperous in this system than any system where the rich get taken out.

Which is like calling a bowl of iceberg lettuce a 'romaine chicken caesar salad'. These conspiracies usually arise due to a poor translation between econ, media, and viewer. Actual ownership of single-family homes by corporations is like 2.5%; last I saw. Housing is expensive because the FED printed $8 Trillion in 2 years and supply never really went up.

  48. These companies wouldn't be able to do this if we actually enforced anti-trust. I don't think people understand how much influence Google has between marketing and sales of these products. If companies actually had to compete for a good product, they wouldn't be pulling these scams. That's what happens when all of your entertainment gets centralized by a small batch of mega-corporations.
