I understand the situation with (unaffordable prices), but you're not really missing out, especially if you live in the US. Homes are like College Degrees. You are elated for 6 months once you get them, then you spend the rest of your life trying to get out of them; think about it. Can't think of anyone that didn't constantly complain about needing to get out of their own house. Plus, there's no such thing as community anymore. We live in a suburb of people hat are 45-80 years old. We are 29 and are raising children. Demographics are changing rapidly and raising a family in a home isn't what it used to be.

Natural gas is the primarily energy source for heating homes in Europe and quite a bit of the US as well. This isn't about blankets; it's about natural gas supply and potential shortages stemming from Government price caps. Not to mention food and other supplies. If you have been watching year over year supply volumes you would know that this will result in disastrous shortages. People will quite literally freeze to death unless they are staying warm at a military shelter. People are always dying; your analogy makes no sense. With your logic, everyone should be thankful for anything that isn't short of being shot, gutted, or in any other regard "blown up." To be quite frank, it's disingenuous and unintelligent. I would implore you to be a little more educated on the subject of why Europe is involved in a conflict with Russia and also what happens when energy becomes scarce. It's not the difference between paying half for energy; it's the difference between being comfortable and dying in 0 degree weather. Want to avoid conflict with Russia? Tell the US and NATO to quit partaking in their typical (middle east 'style') foreign policy. Perhaps the US should not have helped orchestrate the Ukrainian revolution in 2014 and funded weapons for them to fight against Russians in the east.

It's insane to think that (in order to be middle class in America) these days you need to be making $100k single just to qualify. Many people may not be aware, but if you were making $150k single or joint in 2020; you were considering upper-middle class. If you're making $150k in 2022, you are officially center-middle class.
