You're missing out on a wealth of psychological lecture bud.

Well, as much as I might agree. We're looking at an imploding system with the current trajectory. Bootstraps arguments don't work for most people, because it mathematically can't be done without making ridiculous concessions and opportunities. I think most people are irritable because the wealthiest people use a system of loopholes that are not available to the general public in order to protect their assets, patents, and/or scams, etc. Government is being used as a gate-keeping mechanism for a lot of upper wealth. It wouldn't exist in a largely deregulated system.

@Donnie12592 Ukraine hasn't been a sovereign nation for centuries Donnie. Ukrainians have been trying to separate their country since the fall of the Soviet Union. Since 2004, annexation of eastern Ukraine has been sought after by it's own residents. Most people fell asleep in 2014 when the Obama Admin overthrew the existing government in Kiev, which was when Zelensky was installed. Call the invasion what you want, but they've been at war since 2014 (only officially since 2022).
1
@trigamac I already did, your gaslighting response makes me think that you're making things up tbh. I gave specifics; you did not. If you were serious and telling the truth; I assume you'd have done the same.
1
@jesan733 Really? So do leaders of a Democracy bomb civilians that attempt to annex their municipalities to their nation of heritage?
1
Congratulations, I have a Chinese sister and all these attributes are spot on. Does that make you wrong and me right? Feelings are irrelevant, it's just a matter of fact that Chinese culture extends leaps and bounds above others. It has a very strong connection to birth, culture, and family. Chinese people tend to be extraordinarily nationalistic and family centered about their heritage. That's just the way things are and have been for a very long time. Take a chill pill and leave emotion out of geopolitical issues. Go ahead and visit China and the people living there. While you're at it, go visit other Chinese people living inside the states. Then come back and try to say the same thing, because you won't. People really need to choose individualism or collectivism; much less let it go. The same people that are so passionate about jumping on the "it's racist bandwagon" tend to be the same ones that are deluded with collectivist ideology. Which makes absolutely no sense as far as principle or worldview.

Plant? Like a potato? lol

Envy often masquerades itself as compassion. Perhaps you need to listen and not assume things?
1
It's largely why they want censorship.
1
@dereksupernaut You're attempting to measure attention span by category of activity? That makes no sense. Try talking to somebody about a topic (that they want to talk about). See how long they can stay quiet and listen to you; that's their attention span. My own parents can't listen to anybody longer than 5 seconds. It's the most annoying thing on the planet. It's so rampant that I end up walking away from many conversations.
1
That's the problem, it's financially a nice model, BUT the rate of chronic disease just hits the model out of the park. You can't really do anything about healthcare unless you fix the food-supply.
1
Yes fucking way, FUS RO DAH bitch! lmfao
1
Putin wants control and domination; based on what? It's war; theatrics and economics. Russia wants control of Ukraine back and NATO is being funded by lobbyists to turn it into a strip-mall. Greed all around if you ask me.
1
Yep! I noticed when he said that as well.
1
So nobody should interpret anything, ever? Got it.. Otherwise they'll get criticized by people that have just enough of an impressive vocabulary to express that they can't think or write intellectually :)

If the universe is like any other normal distribution. Then probably 90% of the universe is uninhabited . Of those 10% remaining that have the 'ability' to contain life (at least bacteria). Most likely 90% of those lack life. So more or less, you only have 1% of planets contains some sort of alien life-form; even if it's microscopic. Of THAT 1% you have an even smaller number of planets that have some sort of pre-historic-esque alien life-form. Of those planets that contain some alien creatures, even fewer contain a civilization of alien or humanoid-like beings with reasoning abilities. Keep in mind, you have to consider all of this (with time). The universe spans millions of lightyears. It would be impossible to know how many civilizations have gone extinct on alien planets.
1
Naive how? Perhaps you are assuming he is arrogant without evidence because of the nature of the conversation? Seems many people on here are doing that. I call it, "trying to make everyone think you're smart by pretending to see something that actually doesn't exist."
1
What about eastern Ukrainians? lol
1
Saying that a considerable number of Muslims view homosexuality as a sin punishable by death is NOT the same as what Kanye said. I don't see hypocrisy. Ben has always confronted the fundamentals of Islam and surveyed sentiment in the Muslim world.
1
It's both an ethnic group and religion. Jewish people have a genetic bloodline that is certainly traceable. One cannot be Jewish (religiously or racially) unless their mother was of Jewish decent. You can practice Judaism I suppose, but you cannot call yourself Jewish unless you meet genetic criteria. That's a fact for you.
1
When you're a child; it's always about the good guys and the bad guys. As an adult, it's all about how to go forward with two parties fighting over their own political ambitions.
1
You claim he lies and manipulates facts for his own agenda, but I feel you are just projecting. You are doing exactly what you accuse him of. When has he ever used religion to justify his lies? Discussing religious faith and fundamentals doesn't mean someone is using those fundamentals to lie and manipulate people. It's like the simpletons that call Jordan Peterson religious when he alludes to biblical scripture to understand the human psyche in and behind the writings. Of course, people of short intellectual endurance can't stand it for obvious reasons.
1
He can be a handful for people that are not on the intellectual track. He's been a wealth of knowledge though. Little by little, just like Neitzsche. Eventually, the concepts will be easier to grasp :)
1
The world ebbs and flows in waves of inequality. When the inequality is low; people thrive. When the inequality is high; people become envious, contemptuous, and murderous. Unfortunately, there's no constant; no system that we know of that produces a consistent result to keep humans exactly where they are. Of those that have been tried, humans always break the barrier and progress onwards to their eventual demise.
1
Congratulations on your virtuous life changes; most people will more than likely NOT share your sentiment. In a natural distribution, you may be in a demographic of the conservationists. Though for the rest of the population, this probably won't happen. Take your rationale and apply it to Americans; it would be laughable and I would agree. Being German makes no difference! My energy cost has increased 65% (by rate) in the last three months, but I'm fully aware that most of my neighbors and family members haven't looked at those metrics in years. Populations always behave with herd mentality. Don't project your higher than average IQ and preparation onto the rest of the useless population.
1
He addresses religion from a physiological aspect. The interpretation of where they came from and how they pertain to the human condition. I would highly advise listening to his Biblical Series. It's not for religious people, it's for people interested in the study of humans and psychology.
1
Women ruin your life is you a bad at choosing the right woman.
1
The same could be said of either side. CNN and FOX has the power that regimes of the past did. They control and manipulate their viewers, expand on their prejudices and insecurities, and use them to profit. You thinking liberals (explicitly) are an issue means that one of these manipulator has control of your mind.
1
How did you seriously derive that from the lecture? I'm not even religious, but if you people would 'listen' and not hear what you want, I think you'd learn quite a bit. His biblical lectures pertain to psychology, not the actual faith smh
1
Yeah, he really strikes me as a world class bs'er.
1
Perhaps we should support peace and not economic ambitions? By Ukraine; do you mean East or West Ukrainians?
1
I love this response! I think this is how a majority of Republicans and Democrats truly feel about the current environment.
1
@oklol7799 Depends on your perception; hierarchy of needs.
1
What qualifies as crazy $***? Almost all his material is relative to physiological concepts, hierarchies, or clinical psychology. If it's hard to grasp, don't blame the messenger.
1
That's not very logical; is somebody supposed to know everything about everything in a certain area? Is a Physician supposed to know everything about nutrition and preventative care? Don't type in all caps btw; it's vey childish.
1
Is it really hard to grasp the concept of religion (thru a psychological lens?) That's how he's always talked about it. You hate religion, so you hear what you want to hear perhaps?
1
I'd be a lot warmer and a lot happier with a belly full of mead.
1
No meaning, or are you unable to comprehend the subject? You're in the minority bud. Perhaps you should increase your comprehension skills?
1
Boomers have no problem using unionized profit sharing and social security in order to have an average asset nest of $2-5 million by retirement age. There's a big difference between socialism and progressive profit share. In many ways, I'd argue this system has been socialist for nearly 30 years and it's led to mass inefficiency. I don't think people are really for socialism, but rather a system where there aren't a different set of rules that create an oligarchy.
1
What an ignorant statement. This podcast was filmed before the invasion took place. He's already left for Ukraine to interview leaders inside the nation. Open your ears and pay attention my friend.
1
@kurtpearson2793 Too many Boomers still watching MSNBC that think the DNC is run by people like Clinton. The party is unrecognizable.
1
Your assumption of scientific consensus is the 'Achilles Heel' in your essay. As far as Ukraine goes, perhaps NATO and the US shouldn't be overthrowing governments and installing dictators. Zelensky has been pushing a terror-campaign against the pro-Russian residents of eastern Ukraine for the last 8 years. US money laundering in that country goes completely without consequence. I have no qualms about Putin's actions in Russia personally. His annexation of those four territories are a liberation for the populations living there. Populations that have been voting for pro-Russian parties in Ukraine for the last 20 years. You can't rely on governments and agencies to give you objective information. The same goes for climate alarmism. Not to mention those of us that are old enough to have lived through the litany of climate alarmist 'scams' of the past. Non-profit is a way to make a lot of money and pay no taxes, flying completely under the radar as long as you have a friend in Congress.
