  1. To imagine that gun ownership was much more normalized back in the 1950/60s is crazy. With practically 0 incidents like the ones we see today. There is a serious problem going on in this country. People are malfunctioning! I don't have the answers, but it's obvious that (with declining birth-rates, loss in maternal instinct, fatherless homes, and a media accessible to everyone - causing insanity) the answer lies somewhere in the society we are building.

  4. The inevitability of a Keynesian system. No conspiracy, just horrible horrible fiscal/economic policy. It has nothing to do with votes. If you don't increase exports/productivity linear with inflation; wages stagnate and prices continue to rise. If you increase the amount of cookies in the cookie jar; you need to increase the amount of people that will eat them as well. A reversed analogy, but it gets the point across.

  6. Me too, but it's not always the case. Unrestrictive gun laws never guarantee that a normal citizen is armed to handle to situation. In many of the more recent shootings, they've been committed in an environment where it would have been unlikely for someone to be carrying. Ex: A Bike trail, Walmart, etc.

  11. This country is really going down the toilet. It used to be the government vs. people. Now it's more like everybody against everybdoy. Some Hispanic guy thinks he's a white supremacist and then goes and kills a bunch of people. Blame the media, blame the meds, blame rises in autism, blame lack of empathy; I don't thin anybody really knows where to start.

  12. Their sadists and sociopaths; you can't project your morals onto them. Shooting a teenager and a baby is how they send a message. There's no empathy, morals, or ethics about it. Calling them evil is like calling a 'kid who loves to torture animals' a torturer. Unfortunately, the cartel conflicts have been pushing further into US and surrounding border areas. It's a conflict growing completely out of control and the Government of Mexico is so deeply entwined in their ranks that nothing will ever be done. I truly fear a military intervention on part of the US is the only way to try and clean up this mess

  13.  @miv366  What's your solution? People go into politics for money and nobody with leverage can challenge them. Seems like a good alternative to have people that have money (that also have a sense of altruism) to fight back. Btw, I'm not really talking about Trump. People didn't vote so much for Trump; rather they voted for Tulsi, Kennedy, JD Vance, etc. There's nothing particularly special about Trump; other than he's the most persecuted political figure in modern history. Sometimes populism is the answer when everything else has been corrupted. A lot people have come from all different walks of life to condemn the Democratic Party for what they're attempting to do. My fantasy (like many others) is that Progressives can join with Conservatives to eliminate this corporate stranglehold we have over the US.

  14. Well, considering that child neglect and abuse are thru the freaking roof these last 5 years; I'm not sure what the solution is. Parents across the board; divorced, married, or single are not raising their kids. Parents don't come to school board meetings; private; public, voucher etc. Boys that grow up without a good role model father tend to be very low in empathy. If you have no empathy, then you have no morals or ethics. You hurt people for pure amusement. Rough and tumble play between father and son is a MUST at a young age to build that neural pathway of empathy. Considering that there is a crisis of meaning among men, rampant porn addiction, and uselessness; I'm not surprised.
