@slent5346 Please. If Biden had done this; you probably would have thought it was funny. Everybody wants to have a set of rules for the politician they like and another for the opposing team.

As much as I like DeSantis as Governor, the platform he's building to take into a Presidential bid is going to be a catastrophe. Regardless of how I feel about Disney and wokism. If you build a campaign on (fighting wokism, fighting transgenderism, banning library books, and using powers of the state to subdue business. The result is going to be that you lose the election. Nobody that is serious about a candidates is going to vote for you while they ignore inflation, the threat of war from Russia and China, as well as a collapse of our social safety nets. This is all a ruse for the GOP to try and take back both houses and the Presidency, while not addressing anything that people are actually suffering from. I've voted Republican my entire life, but let me clear (the MAGA base has been decimated); People that voted for Trump need to understand this. Many Republican voters in my family and friend groups are also starting to question the current GOP leadership and the direction they are taking us. If you split the GOP between DeSantis and Trump, there's a very good chance that the remaining MAGA voters will make Trump the primary winner and then we lose the general election in 2024.

MTG is the kind of woman that tries to get all the other soap makers thrown out of a venue after claiming that they stole her idea.
2
Why do people keep insisting on having Vikek as the VP? He refused the offer nearly 6 months ago. Please keep up!
2
@Billy Shears The 2020 Stimulus bills were largely bipartisan. The American Rescue plan was not a GOP bill for clarification. Nor is the $3.5Trillion Build Back Better plan the House Committee just passed and is sending to Congress.
2
Americans don't care; a whopping majority of them! Ask anybody 60+ about reforming Social Security; they'll curse you out of the house. Older people don't want to hear it, talk about it, or even acknowledge the mathematics. It doesn't matter how bad the issue gets or how loud some representatives scream. Americans will ignore this issue until the entire circus collapses. Mark my words, this isn't going to happen ten years from now; it will happen sooner. This recent round of inflation has sent the train full steam ahead! You will see rolling black-outs, shortages, and a government shutdown that will last YEARS.
2
I admire Chip and other representatives attempting to fight this issue, but believe me; there is nothing of God's green earth that is going to solve the debt crisis. Even if you taxed Americans at 100% (all income and all capital gains). It would take some 100 years to settle the debt and interest of all unfunded liabilities under the US Government. It's NEVER going to happen, period! It's not linear; it's exponential. Boomers didn't want to talk about Social Security 30 years ago and NOW we are going to pay for it! Not only with our livelihoods, but the livelihoods of our children, and our grandchildren. I truly think that some 99% of Americans are completely ignorant of the situation we are in. Demographics changed; you didn't have enough kids. Nobody apparently did (in all first world countries). Why is another question, but the repercussions are inevitable. We have a shrinking labor force and a growing number of retirees. So what is supposed to happen as demographics shift, Social Security liability goes UP, interest continues to grow, and wages continue to sink below the rate of inflation? That's a brilliant question! You know what happens? We all become dirt poor and can't afford anything. The refusal to talk about Social Security and other entitlements is going to inevitably get them taken away completely. You'll see a Government shutdown that will last YEARS and not even be able to fulfill Social Security auto-pilot payments. Even if they did, the annual inflation would eat it alive. There's a reason why corporations are moving all their assets and business overseas. Who on earth wants to have assets remaining in a continent experiencing a long term depression? America's future is a bunch of elderly people dying in the streets and only a handful of young people trying to scrape by to survive.
2
He was born in the United States.....
2
It won't change anything. Everybody is paying attention to the wrong problems. His mass deportation plan (should it go thru) would have significant implications for the markets. Prices will go up and labor prices will rise. People don't realize how deeply imbedded illegal immigrant labor is in the US.
2
@Mikel3564 Jesus bud, it's going to take a lot more than some hacks to fix this garbage dump. I'm not exactly a fan of the inflation you know; so I won't be voting for Trump.
2
Trump will stop nothing. All that will end up happening is a mud-slide of legal issues between states and Federal agencies. We're more likely to get ourselves into a Civil War than fixing the current issues. In my mind, now doubt inflation will resurge under Trump. He caused the issue in the first place! Let's not forget about the governors that shut down their states as well. The end goal is for corporations to suck up the rest of the wealth and leave the US high and dry.
2
I'm pretty sure ALL but 2 of the state secessions included slavery in their reasoning.
2
US has the largest medical cost of any country in the world. Not ONLY because Medicare doesn't negotiate or patents run unchecked, but also because we are the unhealthiest. If Americans care about healthcare, then they need to first eat healthier and second put representatives in place that will force government to negotiate prices.
2
I have no idea where you got that information. Automotive manufacturing and assembly have largely gone overseas since the 1990s. We import BMW's to the Port of Savannah in the hundreds of thousands. Corporate business doesn't all move overseas in less than 2 years lol
2
Never try to talk facts or logic with someone who is morally superior in their own ignorance....
2
They probably DID read it, but only the parts that benefit them. I mean, these lawyers aren't typing up the bills on their own lol
2
95% of Congress wants to show up for 2 hours to discuss legislation that's controlled by like 5 people. Adjourn for the day and then pay an intern and 5 lawyers to write the rest of their legislative amendments according to whatever lobbyist is paying. That's how our Government works. Corporations lobby and make phone calls, an army of lawyers write the political amendments for each representative, and then politicians show up for a few hours a week to make theatrics in front of the press. Chip Roy, David Schweikert, and a handful of other Republicans and Democrats actually stick around to do their job. Everybody else just ignores them and goes for a Steak Dinner at your expense. People go into politics for two reasons. Either knowing it's a full blown circus of frauds with cows to milk OR completely ignorant and wanting to help, eventually getting way in over their heads.

What's the source?

She's a narcissist looking for a public clap; notice that she started with gaslighting. She doesn't care about the question OR the answer; she just wanted attention.

(FOX News) - "We lied to our viewers." (FOX Viewers) - "No you didn't!"
2
@CodyHagemeier No, it would tank corporate profits lol
2
Yeah, a title for funding can say anything; checking who the funds are WIRED to is the key. It's all money laundering!
2
Until the inflation subject is gong to be thoroughly managed by his campaign; he has no business running for President again. I have nothing against the Tweets, the cage fighting, and the MAGA rhetoric. My issue with Trump is that he literally tried Reaganomics all over again, putting Jerome Powell in place to produce a massive wave of quantitative easing, corporate tax cuts, and artificially low interest rates to over-stimulate the economy. THIS, along with several incentives the Biden Administration produced ultimately created the inflation insanity we are seeing. If you are going to vote for Reaganomics all over again, just expect another big inflation/recession in the economy. Republicans always tout themselves as the (small government party). But all they ever do is create an environment of low interest and corporate tax incentives that run the economy from crash to crash. Your bills go higher and your wages will stagnate.
2
Regardless of which way you lean on this issue. This was the last nail in the coffin for Trump's ability to get elected. From a strategic point of view, Republicans simply don't have enough voters to oust Biden in the next election. Being indicted on 91 felonies has already aliened a large percentage of female conservative voters; this is what many polls indicate. Bringing up election interference after 2400 court cases being struck down will only further alienate moderate Republicans from supporting him. Nobody wants a January 6th 2.0. Congress has already done unparalleled damage to it's voter base, which is why many Republicans are splintering. The moment he got 49% of the vote in the Iowa Caucus; I knew it was over.
2
@GeoffsSousChef Pretty much
2
Inequalities are only going to get worse; nothing you can do about it at this stage in the economic/political environment. This country will be a lot poorer when the middle class is wiped out.
2
A vote for Biden or Trump is a vote for WW3 or Civil War. I refuse to take part in that freak-show.
2
You got that right! Unfortunately, I think (at this point) it's better to stay in the US; remotely of course. Put assets into silver, gold, water, bullets, land, and livestock. We're coming to the abrupt end of the American Empire. Like all empires that fall; tremendous interior and exterior conflicts usually follow. The amount of small scale wars that began after the fall of the Soviet Union was enormous and largely ignored in the history books. It will truly be an interesting thing to watch.
2
Be careful what you wish for. I don't think people truly understand what a country without Federal funding looks like. Everything would fall apart: Social Security, Medicare, Pensions. Followed by the states thereafter.
2
You're going to lose your entire country to an oligarchy if you don't vote for Trump - 2024!
1
Well, putting Trump back in office (the man that pushed Jerome Powell to lower the federal funds rate to near 0%) isn't a solution. He bears the responsibility for a large majority of the inflation insanity; appointment of Jerome Powell, PPP loans, child tax credits, student loan forbearance. All of which contributes towards CPI inflation. Biden didn't help by promising student loan cancellation. Students were out in droves using their loan refund checks for commodities and vacation money.
1
How is this false? It's a demographic issue! Baby Boomers and Gen X did NOT have enough children to fund their retirement future; that's a blatant fact. Every first world country is having a domestic birth crisis. Social Security liabilities go up and tax revenue doesn't compete. They will have to double SS taxes every few years once 2034 hits, just to keep to same level of retirement benefits for existing and future claims. Are you ready to pay 10%SS? 15? 25% taxes in Social Security? Imagine that...
1
Anti-Semitism always rises when the domestic or international economy begins to falter. So much of this is not a surprise. People tend to hate 'successful people' and the Jewish community tends to be the best at doing that.
1
Well, this is rather complicated. People should not get caught up in the (but Russia invaded) part. A war was already ongoing in eastern Ukraine since 2014. None of which would have happened if the Obama Administration hadn't formed a coup in Kiev and installed Zelensky. Before 2014, Ukraine was ultimately controlled by the Russian Federation politically. The US for the last decade has seized control and Russia doesn't like it; naturally they want it back. Trying to force Ukraine into NATO was the last straw for Putin; as it would have quelled the war against Russia's border in favor of NATO ambitions. Plus, they would have lost incredible access to the Black Sea. Also, Eastern Ukraine and Crimea had been trying to annex themselves to the Russian Federation since 2004 officially. This is a power play between the United States and Russia. Russia has ambitions to maintain it's authentic culture and political control in eastern Europe and the US wants to turn Ukraine into a strip mall and ultimately subjugate Russia.
1
@jonson856 Elaborate? We have audio recording from the State Dept. under Obama admitting this. Like everything else, they're online (completely accessible). Hilarious how nobody goes to jail; just like Joe Biden when he openly black-mailed Zelensky. Explain to me how Yanukovich's cabinet was all murdered and suicided? Are you going to deny next that a war began in the Donbass region between Zelensky and pro-Russian Ukrainians. And that Zelensky didn't murder thousands of his own people in air-raids?
1
@Walter-tp9uv I heard about a quarter was vacant. Trump's rallies are nowhere near what they were in 2016 and many of his ultra-fans travel the country on his rally tour. So many of them are the same people over and over again.
1
Tribal leaders steal all the tax-payer wealth that they are afforded and leave their community with crumbs. On top of that, there is virtually policing and no justice with many criminals.
1
Democrats want Trump imprisoned for breaking the law. Did you ACTUALLY think they were going to apply the 'law' across the board? Absolutely not!
1
A vote for Trump is a vote for more inflation. I guarantee you that upon entering the Whitehouse. He will fire Jerome Powell and install a Federal Reserve Chairman that will slash interest rates to (negative territory) like he WANTED back in 2020. If Trump or Biden win, you can be sure that we will be in either WW3 or a Civil War by the end of four years.
1
This was inevitable since the Obama Administration when they helped overthrow Yanukovich in Ukraine and later install Zelensky. The US and NATO are hellbent on using Russia and China to absorb their global debt crisis. Kind of like we billed Germany after WW1. It's all about power and control; a sick game to them.
1
There will be a massive bailout in 2025; wait and watch.
1
It's just a matter of when the world loses faith in the USD Dollar. For the boomers that claim they've heard this before and nothing will happen. You are missing the larger parts of how much public interest we are paying and how far the standard of living has fallen. It's easy to think such things from behind your pension and loaded 401k. I don't say this to be mean. I say it because this logic is rampant and redundant among Boomers and Gen X Americans. By 2034, Social Security and Medicare reaches a $200 Trillion dollar debt maintenance. CBO has already projected that I will either have to pay double taxes, including a 12.4% Social Security tax, seniors will have to take a 25% cut in benefits, OR we will enter hyperinflation. It's morbidly hilarious to know that there are some 70 million people in this country that either don't care OR won't allow reform for Social Security in Medicare simply because they won't be alive to see the results of their failure.
1
I'm no fan of Biden, but I would never vote for Trump again. The man that appointed Jerome Powell and drove interest rates to 0 in 2020. Allowing for mass inflation to run amuck while giving out artificially low rates to consumers. All inflation is a result of the federal funds rate.
1
Uh, the answer is 'slavery!" For those that claim (state rights); the Confederacy didn't believe in the necessity of the US constitution and any position to take advantage of the 10th amendment for made void. It's revisionist history at best.
1
@Lee Roland Irrelevant, nothing (not even cutting all discretionary and military) is going to save this country from the impending cliff. We either default on our debts OR drive this economy into hyperinflation in the next 15 years. Interest payment on our budget can only go so high.
1
@JustinWilliams-ed2ug Go get a CDL; drive for a few years and save everything. Then make an exit plan :)
1
As much as I agree with Trump, he needs to avoid the 2024 election. I voted for him twice, but I can say with certainty that his base has been utterly destroyed in the last 2 years. People are looking to candidates like DeSantis for what this country needs. If Trump runs, he has a better chance of alienating millions of Republicans and giving the election to the Democrats. If he wins the primary, it will be by slim margins.
1
85 Million? There's no way! Republicans are not doing the math on this election? Democrats took Ohio by storm in the 2023 General Election and Republicans were nowhere to be seen. If that is one instance in a swing-state; how do they expect to win the Presidential election. Keep in mind there has been mass dysfunction with the House under McCarthy.
1
America doesn't need Trump again; his appointment of Jerome Powell got us into the inflation mess we are in. He even threatened to fire him if he didn't resort to negative interest rates. It surely would have resulted in worse inflation than we had.
1
I would heavily suggest people create an 'unthinkable plan' in the case of nuclear conflict. Make a list of supplies and locations you can go to avoid fall-out.
