@rhaspados666 Well, I think you're referring to intellectualization. It's usually a defense mechanism that liberals use. Kind of the same way that conservatives will use aggression or detachment to defend themselves socially. If you talk to well rounded liberals; I find the conversation to be much more creative and productive. Kind of the same way talking to well rounded conservatives produce a better atmosphere of appreciation for life, family, and experiences. Problem is, in this day and age it just feels like everybody is angry, depressed, or financially stressed. I wish it was just limited to online. Covid destroyed my family social dynamics and most of my friendships. I guess it's just one of those 'cycles' in human history.

@rhaspados666 Well, this can be tricky. Intellectualization can either be thru hubris or envy. Liberals are high in openness. If the person you're talking to is reactionary; then they aren't a liberal. They're a conservative with a leftist ideology. Conservative and liberal are personality traits; not political ideologies. An intellectualized liberal will usually come off as open, but also arrogant. Never closed off though.

I think it's funny how people don't like that podcasters influenced the election in 2024. BUT, those same people had no problem with celebrities and social media gurus influencing 2020. Do as I say; not as I do syndrome.

Well, they're two different classes of fighters. Trump is a wrecking ball and a cheerleader; using voter worries as ammunition. Bernie fights with compassion; using fairness as ammunition.

Well, that's just the problem; what's an exaggeration, lie, or misuse of words anymore? I mean yes, Trump doesn't tell the truth. However, sometimes it feels like nobody knows the truth and he shoots in the dark. Then sometime later we realize how dumb it was. I'm not sure how you quantify 'lies or exaggerations' in a day and age like this. We're all human, but I feel that a lie must be an intentional distortion of a known truth. Tbh, I don't think Trump really lies, as much as he just throws stuff at the wall and hopes it's true to some capacity. Plus, he's an entertainer and they are used to saying things to get crowds going. So I've never really figured out how to interpret it most of the time. I mean Biden and Harris do the exact same thing. SO again, I'm not sure where the limitations are on human beings.

Well, I'm not sure it's that simple. Border security can't exactly rummage thru your vehicle for no reason. A significant amount of the drug trafficking is being accomplished by using US citizens as middle men. Plus, they don't use your usual suspects. Some of the biggest busts have been HS kids and elderly people running large amounts of product.

More like a brain functioning problem. Have you noticed how anti-social younger people are? All they do is gaslight, virtue signal, and then blame their problems on someone else. And I'm 30 years old! My own sister is 21 and constantly sends me gaslighting/insulting texts when she doesn't get what she wants.

@michaelreader2384 I think you'd be surprised how many conservatives like him. I know plenty of Bernie bros that threw in the vote for Trump this time around and also many conservatives that wish he would have been the nominee in the last three elections. The respect and overlap is much more than meets the eye. The problem is, until progressives realize that they cannot negotiate with the corporate wing of their party; nothing will change. The RNC was so weak that Trump just walked in and killed them.

Because they view people as bugs and larvae. There's something truly wrong with how younger minds are developing and then neural pathways growing. I'm 30 years old and let me tell you, there's a major difference between a 28 year old and a 25 year old, it's absolutely terrifying. I suspect it's the onset of digital technology; iPads, iPhones, and social media from early ages. I was first exposed to it at 14-15, but these kids were exposed at 3-8 years old. Younger people constantly gaslight, virtue signal, and then think you deserve the death penalty when they don't get their way. My sister is 21 and she does this to both me and my wife, it's utterly embarrassing.

@maxjaeger40 I used to think just like you bud. People are extremely complicated; believe me. If you look at people as good or evil; it'll ruin you socially. Plus it will destroy your ability to trust people. Basically, when people have vices; don't look for wisdom or advice in those areas. Some people have problems with gaslighting or manipulating in certain aspects, probably from childhood issues. Make it known to the person and don't listen to their advice; simple as that. People that have anti-social characteristics tend to turn it off and on repeatedly based on the environment. People that lie about everything and manipulate your in every manner are basically psychopaths and should be avoided, but this is a very rare portion of the population. I think Trump has anti-social characteristics, but that doesn't you can't learn from him.

When you replace 200,000 years of evolution with a screen, that takes up 30% of a child's attention span. They are going to be completely rewired in their neural pathways compared to somebody who does not. They will not empathize like you do, they will not sympathize like you, they will not have compassion like you do, nor will they have self accountability like you do. It's not because they choose not to, it's because they can't. If anybody has noticed the anti-social personality disorder epidemic we have with young people (ages primarily 14-25). Then you'll know what I'm talking about. There's something missing from the brain development of many younger people. It's why they gaslight people, take what they can, stab you in the back, and then get mad when you call them out on it.
