@JezaLoki Use an inflation calculator for the USD and come back later. The USD has lost more than half it's value since 1980. We had 40% inflation alone since January 2020.

My parents did the same thing and now my sister has disowned everyone. Yet she has no support elsewhere and no money. She's quite a winner lol It's all due to the same logic. Generation X only cares about 'bragging to their friends on social media' about what schools their kids are attending. They don't care what happens to their children and in turn the children don't care about them. I've watched virtually everyone I grew up with get gaslit and treated like garbage because they didn't get a degree. Yet nearly all of them were successful. The kids that got a BA/BS or Graduate Degree got hugs and kisses as they continue to live at home; unemployed and mooching off mom and dad.

That makes no sense! All of this changed during the 1990s and early 2000s. During a time of global peace (more or less) and prosperity. People became to engaged in hedonism and wanted the respect associated with hardships that they never endured. Plus, women are waiting longer to have children and are becoming infertile due to a range of chemical products and aging out of fertility; plus birth control affects on fertility.

You're conflating new problems with cultural issues that started taking place over a decade ago. People didn't wake up in 2023 and decide that they couldn't have kids because they couldn't afford a home. Not that it isn't MORE of a factor now, but it's not right to conflate the two as cause and effect.

Trump will never be President again; I guarantee you. I don't say that because I love Biden; I actually despise him. I simply don't think he has the votes and 18-30 is now a solid Democratic block, especially among women (92%). Assuming the immigration, economics, and gender issues would somehow re-elect Trump out of voter spite was the worst political strategy in US history. Watch! RFK and the Libertarian candidate will take 15% of the vote. Trump will take 35% and Biden will win 50%. This will be Ross Perot (1992) all over again.

2600 Federal election lawsuits thrown out doesn't count? Republicans are losing because of a major demographic shift. Church attendance in the last 5 years alone dropped by roughly 30%. The GOP doesn't have the numbers. I voted Republican for most of my life and Democrats are rolling Ohio in state elections left and right since 2020.

Bud, Mexico isn't even in the top 5 countries of mass illegal immigration the last 4 years. They're coming from everywhere and fortune 500 companies are paying international contractors to bring them here for cheap labor. Wait and watch, they will get citizenship and employment opportunities here soon. Why do you think Intel is building 7 Semi-conductor manufacturing plants in Ohio? They're planning to create an immigrant-pathway to skilled labor trades.

I'm no fan of Biden, but all of the inflation madness was a product of the Federal Reserve and Trump Admin. I've never seen anyone in the econ atmosphere deny this. If Trump got negative interest rates (like he wanted) inflation would have easily been twice as bad.

@Talib-904 Then vote for RFK! Don't vote for a muppet lol

I've been a conservative and voted Republican a great majority of my life. That being said, Republican voters are growing massively complacent in politics these days. They think that inflation under Biden's presidency is going to undermine the Democrat's ability to maintain the Presidency or the Senate. Trump's support has been on the downturn ever since 2020 and Republican turnout is decreasing at the ballot boxes. We saw this during Midterms and the special elections of 2023. Republicans are not showing up. The uncomfortable truth is that Trump and Biden have played a massive role in inflation and economic downturn. Republicans need to remember that he appointed Jerome Powell as chairman of the Federal Reserve and threatened Powell with his job if he didn't take interest rates as low as he did. This is the real reason for most of the inflation. That's what happens when you give everybody 1% mortgage rates and 0% auto loans; prices and demand run out of control. Everyone is tired of hearing about Donald Trump and they are tired of the volatility in politics. Whether or not it's the right thing for the nation is irrelevant. Republicans are deluding themselves with an overblown sense of support for MAGA politics; it just isn't there. Do not be surprised when Democrats control both houses and the presidency in 2024. I can almost guarantee you that they will win Texas as well in the electoral vote. You need to pay more attention to voter turnout numbers; it's going to be the death of Republicans for the foreseeable future. Millions of registered GOP voters are embarrassed by the last 3 years.

You'd vote for a man that installed Jerome Powell, that had interest rates set to 0 and resulted in the massive inflation you're dealing with? I assure you, if elected again (Trump will fire Powell) and install somebody that will give him the negative interest rates he wanted. You'll end up with double digit inflation the year following.

I voted for him in 2016/2020, but I'll never vote for him again. Ohioans in large are flipping the tables on Republicans lately. Largely due to dysfunction with the DeWine Admin. I'll vote Independent or nothing at all. A vote for Biden is a vote for incompetence! A vote for Trump is a vote for more inflation.
1
@mikereiss4216 I clearly said that I would vote for an Independent.
1
@mchapman132 Hardly! Mass inflation was induced by rates set by the Federal Reserve and lockdown measures set by both Trump and certain Governors (both D and R). Trump threatened to fire Powell if he didn't take rates negative. Thank God his threat wasn't legitimate. Had they set rates under 0.25%; inflation would have been considerably worse. Most people have no idea how inflation works and it always takes 12-24 months to become realized in the economy.
1
@mchapman132 As true as that might be; they know how to find the ballot box and they have proven to be consistent voters.

Republicans need to do their own research. How long will you continue to believe lies (intentionally) spun by Murdoch and FOX News Colleagues? Is anybody aware that they just went through a $785 Million dollar lawsuit over those allegations of voter fraud? You can check any county in the entire country! Voter turnout increased by anywhere from 15-40% on a nationwide scale. Even counties Trump won by 92% had an increase in voter turnout by 30% in most cases. Stop believing the old FOX agenda. They took full advantage of poll worker shortages to insert the idea that mass cheating was taking place. Yet 2400 Federal cases later (thrown out) and not one shred of proof.
1
Not really, that's an old fallacy. It might describe certain inner city ghettos, but hardly the majority. I've seen entire trailer parks on welfare with Trump flags waving everywhere. Just because you are on welfare doesn't mean you're not voting Trump.
1
How are overseas servicemen, elderly, or disabled people supposed to vote Einstein? Vote by mail has been a thing for a LONG time. Republicans only started trying to get rid of it because FOX News convinced them it was used to mass cheat. What is it now? 2600 election fraud lawsuits denied by American judges? Many of them Trump appointees lol

Republicans are running on a single-study done about 12 months ago that suggested that there was a swing from left to right for young male voters. All based on a pool of several thousand people. I can tell you right now that virtually nobody under 30 is voting for Trump. Trump isn't going to break 60 million votes. Republicans are ignoring all the other polling data and voter turnout stats. Republicans DO NOT have the numbers!

The number one reason why the divorce rates are so high, is because hedonism is trying to join itself with parenting; they cannot co-exist.
