@DemonetisedZone Perhaps, or they think that they are a lot more interesting and aggrandised, for far duller reasons. Outside of their minds, in reality, such reasons don't exist. We know people had tough lives, but with respect, they were damaged and became egotists. It is a toxic narcissistic trait.

@dreamclaw00 Everything probably plays a part. It's not right to leave a 10 year old alone at night. Scary TV becomes all the scarier. Nobody guards you from the scary outside either.
