  1. People in the Merseyside area like much of the north seem more keen on the Viking connection, not to mention the Celtic. It's a bit ironic because the army of Aethelstan, the Wessex and 'Aengelisc' king, beat the viking Anlaf, at Brunanburgh, on the Wirral.
