  2. Even if you are prosperous and educated enough to do so, why do it? You are making the main thing that you do, instead of a paid job, your child's teacher. Not only does this hurt your household's purse strings, it reduces your child's social circle to you. The only person your child has to put up with then is you. I think there is a risk of mental abuse and coercive control.
