  1. The USAF is still flying the A-10 only because the Army would demand it be transferred to them if the USAF got rid of it.

  2. The difference with the Hind, however, is that it is also an assault helicopter because it is able to carry troops to a location and then provide CAS. The AH-56 (like the Apache) is purely an attack helicopter and does not carry personnel. The Apache was designed around anti-armor, which is likely the role the AH-56 would've taken on as well.
