  3. This video missed a major difference. The U.S., U.K., Australia, etc., are representative democracies. There are strict environmental impact studies that need to be conducted, land use laws must be followed even in local jurisdictions, eminent domain is subject to due process. All of this can end up in court if one single person has standing to object. I could go on. A dictatorial government can simply do what it wants, and, in the case of China, it does.
