  1. I've never been on a sub (except one docked in port) but I had the opportunity to spend a day on a massive dredger under contract from the US Army Corps of Engineers. Chef was a former submariner. I couldn't believe how amazing the food was on this otherwise utilitarian, imposing looking dredge ship. He was from the New Orleans area and we had paella, all kinds of fish, etc. Was great!
