  3. It's not going to leap to a sixth-gen fighter, but with internal weapons storage and RAM coatings, the next variant could certainly be a legitimate fifth-gen aircraft. The airframe itself can handle the task. Now that they have it built, they can work on the next phase to lower observability in a contested environment. Sixth-gen tech is barely ready for prime time anywhere, and no one on Earth is re-using a fifth-gen airframe as the basis for their sixth-gen prototypes.
