truthbetold9696 What hypersonic missiles? Kinzhal? It's essentially an old SRBM that is dropped off the pylon of a poorly-maneuvering plane. If Ukraine gets decent western fighters and Meteors or AMRAAM-Ds, that comes to an end immediately.

@avus-kw2f213 About the same amount as Russian high altitude aircraft – which is protected just as well by the S-300. The issue here isn't about the S-400 being "bad," it's about it being what it began as: a slightly-updated variant of the S-300. It was billed as almost some sort of super-weapon, but it turns out to be a decent modern platform which indeed will compete well with others. That wasn't good enough for Russia, I guess. The star of the Ukraine conflict, I predict, will be SAMP/T. It's an amazingly versatile system that seems like the best of all worlds. Will be interesting to see how it performs. Patriot will do fine, but it's being replaced in the coming years anyway.

truthbetold9696 Do you even realize that while you're on here arguing about your vaunted S-400, you've sacrificed 100,000 or more of your fellow Russians for some undefined cause? The S-400 batteries presently in Russia are there because the United States is not a party to the conflict, and you're extremely lucky they're not.

@hotstepper887 Are you living in Moscow, Beijing, or another planet, good sir?

@hotstepper887 Well, I'm not going to share my entire academic history in the YouTube comments section, but I can assure you I've spent arguably too much time in school over the years. Is your argument that the UK is ahead of the US? Or are you some kind of anti-westerner in general? I don't get it. There is no objective conclusion that supports the notion that Russian and/or Chinese technology in the military sector is superior to that of the US and/or Europe. Even in SAM platforms, SAMP/T will significantly outperform the S-400, and Patriot is due to be replaced rather quickly. I'm not sure what you're basing any of this on, unless I'm arguing with a bot at this point. Ugh.

@briant5685 Actually, it was a 217km kill shot, fired from Belgorod. Nobody ever argued the system didn't work or wasn't a quality SAM platform. It's just not some world-changing wonder weapon.

The Su-57 is more closely related to the Su-27's Su-35S variant. It is certainly low observable, but it's more similar to what Boeing tried to develop with the F-15 "Silent Eagle" low-obs variant (never caught on) than a purpose-built stealth air superiority platform like the F-22.
