  1. In fairness, New Zealand should increase its defense spending, specifically on defensive capability (integrated air defense network) in case China comes calling. The Kiwis depend on Australia (and in a long-term conflict the U.S. and U.K., too) for defense, and I understand that a small country cannot operate a large combat air force and other assets, but they should invest in Aegis Ashore, Patriots, THAADs or perhaps Israeli air defense systems like David's Sling to help their allies who would be defending them.
