Honestly, I could see some company doing a "flight to nowhere" as an attraction and serving a luxurious dinner, drinks, music, etc. Maybe a "golden age of flying" theme or something. I believe something like that has already launched in Japan, but not sure of the aircraft type.

This was so logical it actually made me chuckle, lol.

When Branson, Bezos and Musk finish launching themselves into space, they could always focus on the sea. You never know. 😎

The U.S. government has already purchased 747-8i airframes for the next Air Force 1. They had been contracted to be sold to an airline in China but the order will not be fulfilled, so the government purchased them. They will probably serve approx. 30 years, so I don't see an opportunity for the A380 to be adopted into U.S. service (A330MRTT may have a second shot at the USAF, though) at any point. I would say that perhaps another head of state may buy one, but the U.K. is already dealing with a "scandal" VIP aircraft, Israel is as well, and Russia/China probably want to hype their own planes instead of buying western types for a super-visible diplomatic role. I don't think India would be interested. Brazil has world power aspirations but they need to protect Embraer. If anything, it'd probably be a Middle Eastern monarchy just for aesthetic value.
