@LoboLakerGaming - If you're traveling to Dubai, a $1,500 flight on Emirates is about the cheapest thing you'll experience. ;)

@Inkling777 - Exactly. And this isn't even mentioning customs issues which can come into play when dealing with multiple border control agencies in the course of a single journey. I would much rather fly a direct flight on a 787 than a hub-and-spoke connecting routine with an A380.

I'm wondering if some of these planes could be converted to a military application. Thinking of an A380 MRTT, though I would expect the issue to be a lack of customers (US will stick with the C-5 and other NATO allies have no need for such a large aircraft). Maybe India?
