My guess here is that the previous C-suite management didn't much care since they knew they were halfway out the door, and the new team had not had the opportunity to even engage with anyone yet. The strike was likely planned around this change in management. Depending on how you look at it, it could be a horrendously negative start to a relationship, or a clean slate that will lead to improvements. At this point, we'll just have to wait and see.

@kenoliver8913 Fascism? Generally, wealth inequality has led to socialism.

@JC-zv3cv The reason movements like "Occupy Wall Street"' failed is because it was unserious. They were not interested in having a conversation or proposing new laws and policies that would improve their country. They blocked traffic, called people names, annoyed everyone, destroyed city parks and vandalized property. "Rising up" can be done in a smart, respectful and reasoned manner. Occupy Wall Street was an embarrassment and likely set back the cause of workers' rights by many years because of the foul behavior of the people involved.

@205rider8 It's really not that simple. People have become sick and tired of "doing what the boss wants" when they derive no benefit from it. They WILL work somewhere else, leaving a shortage of talent behind. In many cases, people do NOT want salaried jobs at companies because of the inflexibility and senseless demands made by bosses. They would rather work on a contract basis, and for good reason.

Technically, the greed is over-regulated – to the point of being outright required. The law calls for stockholders (and bond holders) to be prioritized over any other party.

@ronrichards6653 In fairness, American law requires CEOs and other officers to place shareholder interests before any others. Investors can and will bring lawsuits to enforce this. There needs to be some level of business reform legislation put into place, and there also needs to be a cultural change amongst investors that adheres to the idea that instant gratification (profits) can be detrimental in the long run if it costs the company its reputation, leads to a lower quality employee base, and sadly, leads to people losing their lives. Some of this can be accomplished through a change in management, some of it can be accomplished through a change in law – but not all of it. I can't personally come up with any easy way to fix the last part.

@Marinealver It seems like Boeing encompasses the worst traits of the modern political right and left, all under one roof. Yikes.
