Nah, they won't let anyone outside of their club in on the encrypted radio frequencies. Amazing huh? Taxpayers fund millions in radio systems and they encrypt comms so nobody can monitor what they're doing.

@SirGeorge8600 - Why does Russia fly old Tu-95s around Alaska every few weeks? To say hello and prove they can. Same concept here on a smaller scale.
1
@xiaozhan5879 - Hey, and you even have child indoctrination camps in Hotan. Paradise!
1
@terenarosa4790 You've apparently not seen much of the world...
1
@juanprietob - No, the previous government hastily hatched the deal so the former president could win a big prize. But the OP is correct... Colombia is generally pretty safe. I've felt much more uncomfortable in some European cities (Barcelona, for instance) than Medellin or Cartagena.
1
@juanprietob - I've been in the comunas too, and they've really improved them with the escalators and civic facilities they've built there. Would I go walking around in the middle of the night in the comunas as a non-local? No, of course not – at least not yet – but having been to both of these cities in a relatively short span of time, I would say "no dar papaya" applies more in Barcelona than Medellin, even outside of El Poblado and similar areas.
1
@TheDivinity29 - Be careful what you wish for. If the U.S. stops spending money on its military, plenty of countries will have to pony up to fill in the gap.
1
@mugnuz - It's not, but Europeans don't seem to be able to face reality. They riot in the streets every time tax increases are proposed to deliver the social services they demand. If they had to pay for their own defense, there is no way the European welfare state, which is already failing one country at a time, can remain as it current stands.

They need to bring in General Butt Naked to regulate down there...

Why, in a million years, would the U.S. want to get involved in that mess? How does invading or occupying the most dysfunctional country on the face of the planet benefit the American people? How about France lifts a finger for once. It was their damn slave colony that is the root cause of all this.
1
@liamhennessey2735 - Some people in this thread are confused. The guys in the video are ELN, not FARC. The FARC was assembled more like the IRA – a paramilitary group using arms to obtain political goals and recognition. The ELN has never had centralized leadership and is, at its core, just a group of dissatisfied thugs who engage in criminal activity, tacitly supported by Maduro. I would be surprised if many of its members even knew who Marx was, much less read his writings.

So far in this comments section, left-wingers have proposed confiscating the money I've earned, preventing me from eating the food I like and forcing me to live in a place where I don't want to live. This is why nobody will do anything about climate – it's not REALLY about climate, but advancing the left's overall political goals. They don't actually care about the environment. Wake up, people.

Why should a company care about anything but profits as long as they comply with the law? If I buy a stock, I want the CEO up all night thinking about profits.
1
Most unions have volunteers go out on spying missions to try and intimidate the competition. I assume that's what happened here.
1
I can picture U.S. Democrats sobbing while watching this over the fact that they didn't get the chance to unleash this here...
1
I'll keep my boat, thanks.

I'm sure she's seen enough to cross a repeat visit off her bucket list.

Oh, it would get coverage. They'd be called the "alt-right," labeled as racists, excoriated as "Nazis," and called a whole bunch of other names. The press, of course, would paint them as slack-jawed yokels who don't know what they're talking about. Yet someone who embarrasses themself by wearing a stupid looking vagina hat in public is a hero. The press stinks.
1
These aren't houses. They are private businesses. First the American left wanted to defund the police and allow rioters to destroy your business. Now the left-wing public labor unions want you to go unprotected during a fire so that can destroy your business. You people are sick.
1
No, it'll be another Panama or Nicaragua. There is a legitimized government ready to take over, it has the support of the vast majority of the people, and order will be restored (meaning armed men will no longer be able to freely terrorize whoever they don't like). When Maduro, Cabello and Rodriguez fall from power personally, the military will simply realign with the new administration and orders will be given to dismantle the colectivos, likely similar to the pacification effort in Brazil. The U.S. would probably limit itself to a minor role with targeted airstrikes and managing the initial phases of a transfer of power, then quickly leave.
1
In reality, they should not be NATO members. If they want to align with Russia, they should be free to do so, but that means leaving the alliance and a stop to playing both sides. Now that Brazil is rebuilding its military and wants to return to power on the world stage, I'd argue they should be considered for membership. Frankly, the U.S. should give them the three F-35s that Turkey squandered. ;)
1
@levner brown - Indeed. Ask people if they've heard of "Timbuktu" and they'll say yes. Ask where it is is and they'll tell you they have no clue. Mali is not on the radar for most western people, unless they are deeply interested in international relations or foreign affairs.
1
And three days after this report, most of the FARC leftover leaders have been arrested or killed. And the U.S. put a $5 million bounty on the head of one of the rebel drug traffickers. This was a poor strategic move for these people. Why not just stay in Venezuela and become colectivos for Maduro?
1
@someguy7657 - You're counting 7 units a year as true "serial production?" C'mon. They're pumping out Saab Gripen-Es faster than that down in Brazil.
1
Vice has done a million stories from Africa, including reports from Ebola clinics and the slums of Monrovia.
1
I'm not sure what you expect them to do. I'm sure they would save a person's life just out of humanity, but they're not going to fight a fire in another structure. Do security guards at local businesses just start looking for shoplifters in neighboring businesses for the fun of it? By the same token, do firefighters in your city respond to calls in other cities just because they want to be extra good at fighting the fire? Wtf?
1
Hmm, perhaps if we want to do something about climate change, the left should actually focus on environmental policy instead of tax increases, wealth redistribution and all of the other garbage in their useless Green New Deal bill. If Democrats couldn't use climate change as a reason to tax the peasants into oblivion, they wouldn't care about it in the least. Blame for inaction lies with them, as they care more about advancing a radical political agenda than solving a problem. But we all know that is how they act.

Did anyone catch those boats in the beginning? Retired USCG 25-Foot Defender class RIBs.

American liberals would be screaming at all these guys to wear masks...

It won't. And I don't.

Claiming that you're "oppressed" in the United States is an insult to the people suffering in this video. You're not oppressed. Our government hands you everything you want on a silver platter. Employers are terrified to fire you for fear of being sued. Universities allow you to attend with lower scores than other racial groups. If you commit a crime, you no longer have to worry about bail. Then there's welfare, food stamps, child care, subsidized housing, free phones, free utilities assistance, and I could go on from there. We spend $30,000 per student in urban schools. When does it end? What more do you WANT? It's time to start speaking truthfully about all of this nonsense.
1
Ha, the corrupt public union kingpin they interviewed is concerned with "profits," while all he advocates for is his members to profit off the taxpayers while collecting dues to influence politicians in Sacramento. Public labor unions are the bottom feeders of an already bottom-dwelling labor union world. These slugs even lobby against VOLUNTEER community firefighters because they want them eliminated. Meanwhile, the private firefighters aren't stopping the state from hiring new public firefighters – but the state is broke because they've already taxed residents into oblivion and have no additional revenue streams to open up.

It's actually pretty sad that the left is now using children to push their agenda. Every intelligent person believes the climate is changing. The reason nothing has been done about it is because the only solution put forth is to raise taxes (much of which will never go to anything climate related) and adopt leftist political doctrines. If these people actually cared about the environment, they would realize that a tax-neutral plan could be developed that could even involve private industry investment. Unfortunately, the gross politicization of this issue has produced a large number of people who simply choose not to believe in climate change at all. I've sat at the foot of a glacier in Iceland and literally watched it melt. I doubt any of these people who want to raise your taxes and destroy any niceties and luxuries in life for the dwindling middle class have. Actually, glad I saw the glacier when I did. Plane rides may only be affordable for the ultra-rich eventually.
1
@tylercomfort5016 Unfortunately, yes. This has become a generational problem, and these people have unfortunately found themselves in an unwanted situation because their parents involved them in their crime of illegally crossing an international border. Eventually, a line needs to be drawn in the sand, and parents need to learn that they are exposing their children to many dangers, including legal penalties, when they make this decision.
1
@davidalegria8147 - How do you know the OP isn't or wasn't in the armed services of whatever country he comes from?
1
Vice doesn't understand that helping someone engage in human trafficking is illegal.
