  1. The means of production are all, effectively, state-owned, even if they have been divided into "companies." Those companies, of course, only exist to the extent that the CCP allows them to exist, and the CCP is the ultimate authority on every decision. It's still a communist society with a thinly--veiled facade of capitalism to generate some positive PR and export opportunities.
