@executivesteps Americans already "learn" Metric. Drinks are often measured in liters/ml, medication is dispensed in milligrams, a meter is effectively a yard, etc. Speed is really just getting used to the "feel" of a certain number – 100km/h for 63mph, for example. I would say the one hangup would be with temperature, since there is no logical way to convert the two.

@samiam619 Perhaps teaching topics like this, which link past and present via an interesting and relevant event, is what would improve those school history classes.
