@tarelochka_borscha I mean, all you have to do is remove your forces from Ukraine and war ends. They're not interested in invading you. Nobody is. Who would want it?

@Tuppoo94 There is a reality here, though, that there have been days in Ukraine where Russian forces have lost more personnel than the U.S. did in multiple years in Afghanistan. The war really did not personally affect most Americans, if we're being honest. I don't personally know anyone who was killed in action there or had a relative lose their life there. And that's a good thing, but it also is a reason why the war was allowed to go on for 20 years. It was seen more of a money and time-wasting event than a traditional "war."

Part of Russian culture is the glorification of "sacrifice," especially for "the Motherland." Each generation is supposed to fight a war of some sort. The entrenched definition of "war" in Russian culture is different as well. Americans and Europeans expect precision weapons to make quick work of an enemy with few casualties. Russians view war as artillery ops and everything else in support of it – a bloody event that has its wins and losses. Russians are significantly more accepting of casualties as a "fact" of war.

@sarahtiferet598 I'm sure in your left-wing version of reality, that seems like a reasonable assessment. Wow.
