@blackcatdungeonmastersfami5311 I think the numbers have been fairly well-established, but at issue is how many were the result of friendly fire or malfunctions/mishaps. The Su-34, in particular, has had some very serious reliability issues, including one that crashed as it was literally flying out of the factory. This is the result of sanctions, at least in significant part. Russia is certainly losing these aircraft, but what we don't know is how many of them were brought down by Ukraine versus the number minus fodder for morale-boosting.

It really has little to do with proxies and western powers and almost everything to do with the fact that, at one point or another, France was cool with selling nuke tech to whoever wanted it.
