@fchu5446 - The issue will come once economic freedom is achieved. Eventually, the effects of the One Child policy will be tempered and the financial lunacy surrounding marriage will naturally subside. If the Chinese economy grows and a middle class becomes the largest group, what will the next desire of the people be? Political freedom. And that's when things will get very messy. People who are economically free will not want to be censored, precluded from basic human rights due to dystopian social credit scoring and prevented from unrestricted travel and movement. There will eventually be calls for free elections, and the government will have to decide whether to kill its own people or acquiesce to their demands.

@morceen If your government is worth defending, why is it deathly afraid of a free and fair election? Enjoy your dictatorship. I'm sure it's great until you're the one who says or does something wrong and ends up in a concentration camp after being kidnapped in the middle of the night.
