@13DatsyukDangle13 - The only issue is that certain private companies are held to standards that hold them back from restricting speech. Verizon, for example, cannot censor your conversation about the election. Why? Because they are a utility that is essential to public communication infrastructure. I would argue, especially since governmental agencies use Twitter, Facebook and other platforms for the purposes of emergency management planning, dissemination of civic information and similar uses, these platforms have become utilities in their own right. At one time, services like having a telephone, television and even electricity were luxuries or considered private services for those who wished to follow their policies (ie. AT&T owning all of the phones in America). That has obviously changed. I actually see the AT&T breakup litigation becoming strikingly relevant again.
