But my grandfather had a BW TV with UHF, and we did not have that. At that time I was jealous of the UHF channels

  3. Russia is humongous, expecting "indoor plumbing" in extreme rural Russia is not going to happen, In the 1940s some of our states were 40 percent non indoor plumbing. Russia is a generation or two behind us, what's new? Well, what's not new it that their public transit systems in cities are more efficient, cheaper, cleaner and safer compared to the USA. Besides perhaps NYC and Boston, American cities are unsafe, un walkable and uninteresting.

  5. The economics of Plumbing has very little to do with pex pipes; water is really easy to bring in, hot water a little harder, but waste is the hard part. Russia has always been a few generations behind USA consumers, just not in the military and nuclear sectors where they are close to the USA.

  9. How do they hide their debt? This is crazy, I mean downright ludicrous, how do they hide their debt, they pay off S&P, Fitch et al? Russia is the guy with the small house that he owns if it has indoor plumbing or not, the US seems to be driving her Rolls Royce to the poor farm.
