This is due to them being highly aware of the danger surrounding them via acute senses, and the fact they're incredibly fast, nimble and athletic. All the best, dear! PS. Hyenas are extremely ruthless and efficient hunters with a far higher kill rate than lions when it comes to bringing down prey. And lions are statistically more prone to steal the kills of hyenas than the other way around. And what's puzzling is that you seemingly attribute human values, moral and ethics to hyenas chasing the lions from their kill. To use a cliche, it's a jungle out there and hyenas are no more or less opportunistic than lions or many many other predators. It's a numbers/strength game and the hyenas won here. Tomorrow it could be the other way round. Make sense?

Now let me tell you not only does an African wild dog have the agility of a red fox, it also has some balls and more fighting instinct as well as more powerful jaws. They also have specialised teeth for killing. A pit-bull has, as far as I know, regular canine teeth.

Both look to kill one another given they are rival apex predators, though this applies more to spotted hyenas and lions as opposed to the smaller brown hyena in this video.

As long as people on these kind of safaris don't harm the animals in question when viewing them or compromise their domain (as is clearly the case in this video), then there's no problem. Don't forget - these animals are used to being viewed and there's no harm done. The primary reason they can become aggressive is not due to them being scared or threatened, but simply good old fashioned territorial behavior. When that happens, just be sensible and back off. So what you're indirectly saying is that we all must leave our houses for the Tribal Indians of America? Be the first.

But they hunt and kill the bulk of what they eat and are extremely successful, efficient hunters with a far higher kill rate than lions. Like African hunting dogs, this is due to their intelligence, co-operative teamwork and incredible stamina that allows them to chase prey at a steady speed for long distances. Lions do not have this endurance, hence their lower hunting success rate.
