Germany didn't start the first world war. But they ended up being the ultimate losers of it, due to greedy and oppressive countries like France and the U.K. Their humiliating treatment of the Germans in the aftermath of WW1 is what caused the great resentment and strong patriotic sentiments that brought Adolf Hitler to power. Had they shown a little grace and respected the Prussian Empires borders, instead of ripping into it like hungy vultures, a guy like Hitler would've never risen to power in the first place.
