  1.  @leichen8132  Us westerners back the free people of Taiwan because they deserve freedom of speech and sovreignty to choose their own path in life, regardless of whatever ambitions the authoritarian CCP has in mind for them. As a common man, I can't speak for what corporations or governments in the west may have as ulterior motives. But I do know that all of us who support Taiwanese independence do so because the Taiwanese deserve these basic human rights. EVERYONE does. Yet Mainland China is an opponent to human rights. They hate and fear people who express their views freely and will censor any and all opinions that criticize them. I have NOTHING to gain from expressing sympathies and support for the free people of Taiwan. But I do so anyway as a matter of principle. Likewise, the many oppressed and censored people in mainland China deserve these rights too. But the evil CCP stands in their way.

  4. Even if Taiwan and mainland China shares similar traditions and cultures, Marxism was never a Chinese tradition. It is an ideology of evil, concoted by a European imbecille. Which the CCP is using to tyrannize anyone they can get their hands on. The "status quo" will never be maintained in Taiwan under Mainland Chinese oppression.

  5. The Taiwanese deserve freedom of speech and democracy. "Unification" will mean that these things are taken away and Taiwan will be subjected to CCP Tyranny.
