  3. I think it's a fair comparison. Even though they are united, the U.S is comprised of different states (that were essentially their own countries originally). Some states even rival other countries in size of both land and population.

  4. Geography is only really important if you're gonna send troops or nukes to a foreign country. It doesn't really impact people's everyday lives. I can honestly say that I don't know exactly where all municipalities are located in my own country. I know the most southern parts, as well as where the capital is located and some of it's neighbouring municipalities. But the rest are a jumble. But I don't consider it that important because I don't regularly go to these places.

  5. I feel pretty confident of locating the east- and westcoast states on the map, as well as the southernmost ones. As well as Alaska and Hawaii of course. But I don't think I could point out the northern and mid-west states at all.
