  1. Ā @ImAMassiveBenderĀ  It's tailored to mock westerners and their general ignorance of other countries. Part of the fun of Borat's skits is the fact that the western people Borat interviews and engages with often genuinely believe that Borat's presentation of Kazakhstan is accurate.

  2. If I am fortunate enough to visit Kazakhstan in my lifetime, I'll make a point of not talking about Borat. Just take in the country on it's own terms.

  3. I don't think Sacha Baron Cohen chose Kazakhstan for the purpose of making fun of Kazakhstan to be honest. The point of his skits is rather to exploit the ignorance of his western interview subjects in order to create comedic situations. He could've picked any country to base the Borat character on really, so long as it was a country that would be very unfamiliar to the western people he "interviews" while being dressed up as Borat. EDIT: Haha, the guy with the beard basically said the same thing. šŸ¤£
